AI & Me

Ever since I bought my first computer ( a Sinclair ZX81) in 1981 I dreamt of the unlimited possibilities and opportunities digital devices were capable of. Mike in Heinlein’s, “The Moon is a harsh mistress” was (is) a something of an example and inspiration for me to take a few courses in Artificial Intelligence way back in the early nineties. Today thirty years later it seems that AI is a force that will change to the fabric of our society in decades to come. Utopian and dystopian approaches to AI have convinced me to be a part of the discussion that is unfolding on the (un-)possible roads to take. There is a lot of nonsense and riding “the Hyperwave” out there. This blog will be my story on how I see the possibilities and challenges of the history and features of AI. My personal focus will be on the impact of AI on education.
